Press Release: Sentient Being Communication Device Launched
November 28th, 2023

At a Southwestern Veterans Chamber of Commerce meeting held at Maggiano’s Restaurant in Scottsdale, Arizona, Shark Fin Gear Company's President and CEO, Jack Armstrong, publicly introduced the term "Sentient Being Communication Device" for the first time. Coined by Armstrong, this term describes any device that utilizes electronics and AI to facilitate communication between animals and humans, and potentially even humanoid robots in the future.

These devices enable a range of interactions, such as transmitting health data, tracking location, and even interpreting an animal's thoughts via AI. Additionally, they can support human-to-animal communication, including training commands, automated food and water dispensing, and managing bathroom breaks.

Looking ahead, when humanoid robots become common in households, these devices could allow pets to communicate directly with them. Imagine your dog asking a robot to play fetch or the robot sensing when your dog is too hot and needs a rest. All of this will be made possible by the iFIN patent, which provides the necessary space for safely encapsulating electronic components on the pet, paving the way for this groundbreaking communication technology.

Press Release: August 29th, 2023

Shark Fin is thrilled to announce that the long-awaited patent application for the iFIN has been officially approved. This patent covers the innovative method of encapsulation that gives the iFIN its competitive edge over all other GPS tracking devices on the market. The iFIN is not only thinner, waterproof, and safer than any other system available for pets, but it also offers a range of daily functions, including a bright LED light and a vibration training motor. Remarkably, the iFIN is recognized as the world's first Sentient Being Communication Device. The unique features of the iFIN are made possible by this one-of-a-kind patent, marking a significant milestone in the evolution of pet tracking technology.

Phoenix Arizona - August 4th, 2022

Shark Fin Gear Company is excited to announce that it is having a ribbon-cutting ceremony today at its new production facility and headquarters in Tempe Arizona. The current lease began in June. Until now the last several months have been used to set up the production space, office, and showroom to prepare for increasing sales and hiring of necessary personnel. Taking a page from the pandemic playbook, SFGC will have all management and marketing personnel work remotely to reduce the overhead cost and to provide a better lifestyle for its employees. For those who do need to work on-site they will find it’s an inviting atmosphere that is pet friendly.

At the Ceremony, SFGC is going to introduce the new iFIN ™ Harness with an attached iFIN™ GPS tracking system! This is the first GPS system in the world to be integrated into a harness. Why this is so important is because many dog and cat owners have found that their animals are safest with a harness on as opposed to a collar. Some owners use both. So it is essential that a tracking system can be applied to a collar and a harness. And the iFIN™ is interchangeable between the harness and Shark Fin® Collar.

Shark Fin Gear Company is currently in the process of launching an equity crowdfunding campaign on the wefunder.com platform. The capital raised will help finalize production needs and scale up growth. Phoenix Arizona - July 28th, 2020
Jack Armstrong, President / CEO of QR World Inc., was awarded a design patent for the Shark Fin™ collar. The unique design is shaped like a shark’s dorsal fin, hence the name.  This is a key piece of intellectual property for the company as it is the flagship product for the company.

The collar design was driven by several goals. One goal was to introduce a flagship product for the new company that would stand out in the crowded pet market. The second goal was to have a dynamic design that people would be excited about. The third and the most important aspect of this design is that it can provide enough space to support electronic systems placed under the collar instead of on top of the collar like current systems on the market.

As a collar, it can obtain a sizable market share of the collar business. The quality of the leather, made by Wickett & Craig of Pennsylvania, is unparalleled in the market. The fact that all of the aspects of the collar are of the highest quality and made in the USA are all great selling points. But the size of the “fin” offers a totally unique opportunity to customize the collar. We have introduced laser-engraving options that include a vintage “Old Glory” design. We will be able to put your favorite team logo, a flag, a symbol, and any design within reason by the use of the laser engraving process.
