Fabric: 1000 Denier MIL-SPEC CORDURA® nylon is the industry-leading choice for a variety of heavy-duty applications such as outdoor gear, military gear,  and now dog harnesses. It is a versatile nylon fabric with more strength and bulk than No. 7 Duck at little more than half the weight. CORDURA® Nylon is a textured nylon for a natural spun-like appearance, with excellent resistance to fading, abrasion, rot, and mildew. Quick drying, and highly water repellent. This particular fabric is also one of the finest textiles we have ever seen. It's incredibly tough, yet still soft and pliable for comfortable wear for long hikes and service dog shifts. Lastly, this MIL-SPEC version is 100% Made in USA and fully Berry Compliant.

Hardware: 1.5" Nexus Side Release Buckles 

Originally designed by ITW Nexus, the Black Side Release buckle has long been the industry standard for side release functionality and design appearance.  Center bar wings prevent over-flexure of arms and release under impact loading. The Ladderloc feature provides maximum webbing grip while allowing smooth and easy adjustment. It is only recommended for dogs with non-aggressive behavior. Made in the USA!

Molle Straps - MOLLE stands for “modular light-weight load-carrying equipment” SFGC uses military specifications for our molle straps including Velcro® MilSpec loop and nylon webbing. NOTE: Not available on Small, XS, and XXS sizes. On these small sizes Velcro® side panels are added but they are not Molle straps

We are confident our product can withstand the rigors of this environment. All products manufactured by SFGC are backed by a 5 Year Limited Warranty. Steps to measure for your dogs harness:

1. On the size guide above you see the red circle on each dog. That is wear you measure. It's called the girth and is the largest area of the dog's body, right behind the dogs front legs. If you have a tailors measuring tape use that. If you don't use a cord, strap, belt, what every you have handy. Then layout what you used and measure it  with a standard tape measure. It's best to do this 3 times to be sure you have it right.

2. Shark Fin Gear's harnesses are made so that if the girth measurement is right, the neck measurement won't need to be measured. We guarantee if the girth fits, the rest of the harness fits. If you are not satisfied with the fit we will replace it with the best size for you at no charge.

Determining the correct size for your Service Dog's Vest isn't an exact science. Here at Shark Fin Gear, we strive to ensure you achieve the ideal fit. That's why we offer seven sizes tailored to most breeds, with the exception of the smallest dogs weighing under 15 lbs. Consult the sizing charts provided below to gauge and equip your dog with the appropriate harness. Keep in mind that these Service Dog Vests have handles from the front of the harness to the back, parralel with the dogs spine. The come in 3 colors. Sometimes people choose the harnesses in the Outdoor Adventure catagory for a broader selection of colors and a different handle position.
